Keith Williams

Managing Director

Keith was born in the Welsh valleys, studied Electrical and Electronic Engineering there, then worked for a couple of post production kit manufacturers and a large post house, becoming chief engineer in 1985. In 1987 he founded Soho 601, where he designed and built Europe’s first all Digital postproduction house.

In 1997 Keith joined Television Services International (TVI) as Managing Director, working directly for Carlton Communications PLC. When TVI was sold to Ascent in 1999 Keith transferred to Technicolor where he became Senior Vice President, Technical Services Europe. He set up their UK telecine operations, established a high volume DVD Authoring facility in London, and traveled around Europe certifying authoring houses so they could formally work alongside the Technicolor DVD replication facilities.

In 2003 Keith moved to Ascent Media, becoming Vice President of Operations responsible for the day to day running of two film laboratories, Todd AO and Soho Images, as well as St Anne’s Post and One Post, the Ascent Digital Intermediate Facility.

Keith Joined Goldcrest in 2007 as CEO for both the London and New York Post Production businesses, and although based in London he is a frequent visitor to New York.

His contribution to Engineering was recognized in 2005 when he was awarded a Fellowship by the Institute of Engineering and Technology. In 2006 he was elected to the UK Screen Association Board of Directors, and served one year in this position representing the UK industry and helping establish the association.

In his spare time, Keith has a 16-year-old Landrover, and takes off with a tent into the rough Welsh outback (!) at every opportunity. His other time is spent consoling Welsh Rugby and Reading Football Club fans.
