Goldcrest launches new division with Merchant-Ivory shoot
Goldcrest is happy to announce its newest division, Goldcrest Features, which aims to vertically integrate the production process. Run by veteran producer Gretchen McGowan, Features just completed its first project: additional shoots on James Ivory’s new film, The City of Your Final Destination, to be released in 2009.
The Winning Season sold at Sundance
Features project, The Winning Season, was sold to Lionsgate at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. Pic, starring Sam Rockwell and Emma Roberts, is a Plum Pictures production helmed by Sundance veteran James C. Strouse, whose previous picture, Grace is Gone, won the Audience Award there in 2007. Winning Season is set to bow late 2009.
Coming Up: Edward Burns’ Stoolie
Goldcrest Features is currently in pre-production on Edward Burns’ newest film, Stoolie, starring Edward Burns. Stoolie is being shot on the RED camera, and aims to be released in 2010.
