When there are only two heart-throb Gondoliers and 24 prospective brides, you’d think a problem would arise. But no. Giuseppe and Marc will “Let impartial Fate, select for us a mate!” Mysteries and mistaken identities abound (for example, one of the lads is believed to be the King of nearby Barataria, but who?). They rule the palace in tandem until all is happily resolved with typical Gilbertian ingenuity.
