From a small country village in Devonshire, England to the WW1 battlefields of Flanders, brothers Charlie and Tommo Peaceful are constantly vying for the same things in life—the love of their father, the attention of their mother and the hand of the beautiful Molly. But, only one can get the girl and it's the older, wiser Charlie who succeeds. Driving the underage Tommo to run away to join the army, Tommo realizes he can't run from the love of his brother, and he and Charlie find themselves fighting together—surviving gas attacks, shelling, German troops and the appalling deaths of close friends—ultimately saving the bond between them that can never be broken again.
